Regina city councillor fights traffic ticket with the charter

Louis Browne, a Regina city councillor, was charged with blowing a red light in June. He doesn't deny this charge, but instead argues his Charter rights were violated when he was stopped by the policeman! Read about this classic example of trying to turn rights into wrongs.

I'm confused. Are you supporting his fight action and saying the officer was wrong? "Read about this classic example of trying to turn rights into wrongs." Because I think thats very wrong for a city councilor to be fighting a charge like this and was thinking that you guys would be outraged at this excessive misuse of taxpayers dollars during the trial. But there is no hint of it but rather a suggestion that maybe you believe blowing red lights in certain situations should be allowed. so where do you stand on this issue?

Of course I think this is ridiculous! He's turning charter rights into a way to justify his wrongs--namely blowing red lights.
