The feds have announced a Taxpayer Bill of Rights and the formation of an ombudsman. Anyone who has ever been on the wrong side of a CRA tax review should see this a positive development.
Update: I'll be on CJME at around 1:30 Saskatchewan time to talk about the bill of rights. You can listen live.
UPDATE: BUMPED! We're rescheduled to talk about this tomorrow around 12:30.

So now you like big government?
Uh, yeah...that's right Robert.
The ombudsman will be appointed later this year and is to be operating this fall with 40 offices across the country, Skelton said.
It will increase the size of government. And what's worse is that it hasn't even been determined if it's necessary.
How this will differ from current Canada Revenue Agency efforts on Fairness and Taxpayer Rights remains a mystery.
Great post, David. Too bad the trolls have come out in full force from underneath their rocks to smear a good government initiative with off-topic remarks....and Robert McClelland to boot. The guy does a disservice to the Dippers by simply remaining a blogger.
Interesting interview and topic. Keep fighting the good fight and don't let the conspiracy theorists get you down!
Great post, David! If this blog didn't exist, I'd have to invent it.
