The City of Winnipeg will vote on whether to completely privatize garbage collection within the city. Currently, 60% of the city's garbage collection is done privately. If the council votes in favour of the motion, the city will save an estimated $2 million per year.
Let's hope they reduce taxes accordingly.

I am very pleased to report that Winnipeg City Council in a 9-7 decision has voted in favour of contracting out all of the city's trash collection.
This move could potentially save taxpayers between $2.4-3 million. A good day for competition and better day for taxpayers in Winnipeg!
